Terms and Conditions 2023

I am delighted to provide my tailored dog walking and dog-sitting service. I started my business in 2014 and have been pleased to look after many breeds of dogs of all different shapes and sizes. I have loved them all and regard my job a privilege. To ensure the smooth running of the service and the important health and safety of my doggies, please read and accept the following terms and conditions for walking and doghouse guests. Please sign and return the included documentation.

There are a few changes for 2023 so please read the T&C’s carefully:

Any new dogs must come for a trial walk, or in the case of sleepovers/daycare they must first visit the dog house so I may evaluate their social behaviour and happiness around our other dogs.

If required I can come to your home before booking any regular walks.

Dog Walking Fees

£15.00 per walk for one dog ( one hour + travel )

£25.00 per walk for two dogs same family ( one hour + travel )

Weekend walks are for boarders only, but may be possible in an emergency

for £20.00 ( one hour + travel )

Bank holidays walks are only available for dogs boarding.

Payments

The use of my services is deemed acceptance to my terms and conditions and agreement to pay fees on time. Fees for walks must be paid before or on the day or if multiple walks weekly.

Payments can be made by cash/cheque or BACS, when paying by BACS please put your dogs name and dates covered by the payment as a reference. My BACS details will be given on request.

Cancellations ( Walks )

Due to the popularity of dog walking places I will charge full rate if you cancel your dog walk on the day.

If for any reason I cancel the dog walk I will endeavour to give 24 hours notice.

Health & Safety:

• I am insured for dog walking and dog boarding.

• I have completed 2 dogs first aid courses and a canine body language course.

• I do not accept any responsibility for any death, loss, injury or illness to dogs whilst in my care.

• Owners are advised to have their pets insured.

• No dog prohibited under the Dangerous dogs act 1991 can be accepted.

• All dog owners must show proof of vaccinations against infectious diseases, including ( but not limited to ) Canine Distemper, Infectious canine hepatitis, Canine parvovirus, Kennel cough, Leptospirosis.

• You must inform me if your dog is ill as i cannot walk dogs that are unwell or known to have an infection, due to the risk to your dog and other dogs in my care.

• Extreme weather may mean shorter walks in the best interest of your dog, for example in high or low temperatures and in strong winds.

• I would expect all male dogs over 9 months to be neutered, or if not , their social behaviour has to be pre-assessed by me. Bitches in season cannot be accommodated or walked as i cannot separate them from the other dogs. Please ensure your pet is fully out of season before requesting a walk or stay as this can lead to difficulties between the dogs.

• Under the control of Dogs Order 1992 you must provide your dog with a collar with an identity tag whilst in a public place with the owners name, address and telephone number ( even if microchipped ). Please insure the tag details are current.

• All dogs must be microchipped, and owners must know their number.

• All owners must fill in my information form, giving vet’s details and emergency contact numbers. Owners are responsible for updating and informing me immediately if any changes are made so that details and contacts are correct.

• If any illness occurs during a walk I will contact the owner or emergency number asap. In an emergency I will take your dog to your vet or ( if closer ) to mine at Christchurch Street, Ipswich. All cost will be the responsibility of the owner.

Behaviour on Walks:

So that all the dogs enjoy their walks and stays:

• I reserve the right to stop walking your dog if in my opinion it shows aggression to me, to other people or to other dogs.

• I do not walk dogs with choke chains or electric collars as they can cause harm to the dog.

Media:

• I may photograph and video dogs on walks and share them with you. These images may also be posted on social media. The rights of all images remain property of Tracy Root, The Suffolk Fairy Dog Mother. You must advise me in advance if you do not want your dog photographed or images shared on social media.

Access to your property:

• If you ask me to collect your dog from your home address I will take reasonable care but I am not liable for any theft by third party or any damage to your property.

Waiting List:

• I have been so pleased by the popularity of my dog walking, dog day-care and sleep-over service in my home. I therefore have a waiting list to try to help my dog owners.
